Devotion to Jesus
In and Through His Holy Name
The Oxford Dictionary defines devotion as love, loyalty, or enthusiasm for a person. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary adds that devotion is when a person is ardently dedicated and loyal to another. The Holy Name Society works to promote and foster devotion to Jesus, that is love, loyalty, and reverence, through and in His Holy Name.

"the Mighty One has done great things for me and holy is His name."
Luke 1:49

"Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice."
1 Chronicles 16:10

"Sing the praises of the Lord, you His faithful people; praise His holy name."
Psalm 30:4
Devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus begins with forming and then growing our personal relationship with him. This centers around knowing Jesus and who he is, and inviting him into our life.
Like a good friend, we grow in love by spending time with him. Sharing our hopes, dreams, struggles and difficulties. He walks with us through our daily journey.

"I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly." John 10:10

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:29
The Holy Name Society fosters a growing love for Jesus and His Holy Name. This happens through the Holy Name Society's efforts to help people:
-
Discover Jesus.
-
Learn and know of his life and love.
-
Pray - with requests, in giving thanks, in offering praise, to offer reparation for offenses to the Holy Name of God and Jesus.
-
Join with others who share a love of Jesus.
-
Serve those in need, and to serve in our parishes and our communities.
